About
Zero Strategist is an independent consulting and development collective based out of Portland, Oregon. Take a look around our newly reinvented web presence, we hope you like what you see! Feel free to drop us a line to chat, tweet us, and connect with us anytime. We would love to hear from you and jive about what you are working on!
A Better World Through Social Design
Today virtual and physical realities converge, intermingle, riff off of and change one another. The web has become semantic, ubiquitous and increasingly social – changing us, our relations to one another, the information we are exposed to and produce, the distances between us and the nature of our business models. Zero Strategist lives, creates and thrives at the edges of emerging social technology, cultural change, iterative improvement, beautiful design, information visualization and constant learning. We are focused on living and creating a better world through social design.
Stay Hyped! Passion is Contagious
When you are passionate about life (doing your life’s work) great things happen. Your passion is contagious, it frees others from their notions of limitations, turning ideas and dreams into reality. When you work hard, confident in what you know, have a trusted team, always willing to learn something new, and put your heart into your work it really shines through…so stay hyped!
A Holistic Approach
Zero Strategist takes a holistic approach to social media and our comprehensive consulting services, we understand that one project, one person, one product, one service, one technology, one invention, one idea can completely affect or change the entire organization. We take the time to understand who you are, your culture, your technologies, your processes, your mission and your goals to develop a custom solution that meets your needs.
The Future Is Small, Agile and Social
We believe that the future of the web, the enterprise and the world will be pioneered by small agile groups of creative individuals collaborating efficiently across geographical boundaries with light-weight social tools to create amazing things (startups, services, products).
Be Awesome and Completely Compelling
Be awesome!Be good at what you do and push yourself to do more then you have ever believed you could. Dedicate yourself to learning and improving. Be yourself, be real with people and realistic about your goals. Check your ego at the door and keep an open mind. Always listen and share. Be completely compelling to everyone you meet.
Start Today, Make It Happen
When you have an idea, don’t wait – start today and make it happen. Can’t make it happen by yourself? Find collaborators through community and social networks! Use social media tools to work smart and stay connected. Find the people who know what you need to know. Develop your prototype now and share it with people who can help make the idea a reality. Be determined to make it happen!
Respect, Listen To and Love Thy Peers
Respect is the foundation of relationships. It is the fundamental basis for all meaningful human interactions and a prerequisite for learning. The respect must be mutual. In order to understand what people want, you must listen to and actually hear what someone would like to get out of any given interaction. Love thy peers, because they are your collaborators and help give you opportunities shine.
Don’t Suck or Do Sucky Things
At Zero Strategist we have strong ethics and we do not compromise them. Ever. We don’t believe in sucking. If anything sucks we won’t endorse it or put our name on it. If anyone sucks we don’t want to work with them or their organization. In the long run everything you do comes back to you, but when it comes to the web it tends to come back faster. So don’t suck or do sucky things to people.
There Is Always A Solution
There is always a solution so have the resolve to solve it. We keep trying if things don’t work the first time or the fifty-fifth time. When things don’t work, we look from fresh perspectives, take a different approach, follow a unconventional lines (or polyhedrons) of thinking. Know when to back off, re-approach, or just keep going. Problem solving is a skill which requires practice, creativity and determination.
