Social Media Engagement

Hiring someone to pretend to be you by setting up a Twitter or Facebook account, re-routing your traditional media communications/channels into “the social media” is not engagement. It is the re-distribution of content with no thought of destination, community or context. In order to engage you have to take the time to learn the principles, concepts, components and technologies…otherwise no substantive intelligent engagement can occur. Zero Strategist takes a holistic approach to social engagement by getting you started off on the right foot and teaching your people “how to fish” so that engagement capacity can be created within your organization. Of course not every organization has dedicated resources, so we can provide a boost and supplementary capacity as needed for large campaigns, events or new initiatives. Whatever your engagement need we help create consistent experiences across the digital divide and use leading social engagement tools to make it happen.

Which widgets, plugins or modules should you use where to cross pollinate your social presences? Many organizations start setting up accounts without a plan, strategy or any technical knowledge and then start amassing a following with no idea of the problems that can occur in the future. Then it happens, you have to change your account because it was not done properly and you lose months of engagement, thousands of followers and precious time.  It is best to set it up right the first time, but if you don’t it is better to take care of it straight away. Setup can sometimes seem simple, but optimization of social media can be daunting both aesthetically and technically. Let us help you get your social zeroed in so you can get the most out of it.

Community Management

Communities.  They are living ecosystems.  They are complex because humans are complex.  Organizational structures create incentives that can change how people respond and interact in online communities.  Communities can be a tangled web of cultures, interpersonal relationships, industry nuances, and internet jargon.  This is why community managers exist, because social media technologies do not curate, engage, mediate or resolve themselves.  A good community manager can be engaging, diffuse tense situations, help newbies, resolve conflicts, direct community members towards resources, spurn collaboration, open cultures and turn digital hubs into productivity centers.  Sounds great right?  Community management is not about technology, social technologies exist.  It is about people.  Your people with all of their idiosyncrasies, strengths, quirks, weaknesses, humor, style, technical abilities and wit. Being a community manager is extremely difficult and one of the toughest jobs in social media because it is one of the only jobs that touches almost every aspect of the organization. The community manager must have excellent control over all mediums, have good intuition, be able to read people, know the organization, understand the management, understand the industry, know the context, find out what is next and have a strong understanding of social media. That is a lot for any one person to know or do well this is why it is so hard to come by excellent community managers are very hard to come by. At Zero Strategist we are not new to community management. We have been through trial by fire and from that forged our knowledge of community management and engagement.  When you need help with community management, growing your community, training or building skills with your own community managers…
