TechCocktail DC 4 Was Social
I ventured out down to my old digs (DC) on Thursday to check out Tech Cocktail 4 DC @ Left Bank in Adam’s Morgan. It was a good night out there & I got a chance to hang with other some social media cats + tweeples. Ran into some people I have been following on Twitter for awhile and got my virtual deja vu on. Not surprisingly I ran into some tweeples who I saw @ the DC Twestival. It was nice to meet Maxine Teller @mixtmedia from MiXT Media who is a Gov 2.0 maven I have been following on twitter for awhile. She was one of the first people to stop by Zero Strategist & say hello while I was building the site.
It was fun picking the brains of the cool crowding sourcing folks over at Genuis Rocket. Saw some apps in action from Share Meme. Chatted up @Cheeky_Geek or two for a hot second, who asked me what I thought of his new blog Cheeky Fresh. I like the cheeky tag line “Strangely Compelling Brew” which (I think) is a play off the cult comedy “Strange Brew” an old school movie that love.
I had a good time riffing with @Corbett3000 the mad ideation scientist over @ iStrategy Labs. After T-Cocktail I headed over to Madam’s Organ with @Tomjd to pitch in for a food kitchen charity event and had a great time talking with the Ashoka posse. All in all it was a good night out on the town. I realized that after attending school in DC for so many years, I miss some of the scenes that are still happening there and need to get back out to more concerts @9:30 Club too.
Side Note: Unfortunately, I could not make it out to Transparency Camp this weekend, but I suppose there are so many tech & social media related niche events happening all the time in the area that it is neither time or cost effective to make it out to everyone.
